Getting Started with a Band Website.
Having your very own website is fun and exciting. You have total control of everything. You can sell tunes – Run contests for your fans – Here are a few things to think about before you get started.
1 CREATING YOUR WEBSITE: Does anyone in your band have any Computer skills. Are you Familiar with HTML? CSS? If the answer is no then you have to decide if you want to try to learn these things on your own or hire a website developer. One thing to consider when you hire somebody – Once the site is done it is yours – You may have to pay a couple bucks at first but then you have the site forever.
2 DOMAIN NAME: Most bands pick www.yourbandname.com if that’s unavailable you can always try .ca .net etc The cost of a URL is usually around 10 bucks a year and you can get one here GoDaddy.com
3 HOSTING You will need somewhere to host your site – The cost for hosting is usually around $3 to $15 dollars a month – We only charge 50 a year and we pay the first year for you when you purchase your website through us.
4 META TAGS AND SEO – Ever hear of Meta Tags and SEO? You have probably experienced this a little on YouTube or flickr etc. Basically these things help in your Ranking on the search engines. We include this service when you order your website through us. We will add the best description and keywords to your bands niche.
5 MERCH – You could create your own or There are a lot of great places to design T-Shirts etc. Zazzle.com is great. We are Graphic designers so if you need graphics for anything – T-Shirts, CD, Lunchboxes Please let us know. – If a graphic can go on it we can probably create one for you.
6 MAILING LIST – We would highly recommend having someway to gather your fans emails from your website – This way you can keep in contact with your fans – You can announce CD Release, shows, member changes ect we create awesome newsletters for bands to send out if you are interested.
